A wonderfully sheeny album with dramatic but still understated vocals and catchy-as-hell songwriting — this is poppy, drum-machine-driven post-punk indebted to all the folks you think of (the cure, new order, the chameleons, etc.), but it's nonetheless its own thing. A standout set of tracks delivered with passion and patient tension.
